Engagement Photos in Chatham-Kent & Windsor

A relaxed session together, a great spot and photos you'll actually want to post.

Why do one

Think of it as a warm-up. Most couples tell me they hate being photographed, and an engagement shoot fixes that fast. You learn how I work, I learn how you two laugh, and by the wedding day the camera is just a guy you've already hung out with. Plus you get photos for your save-the-dates, your wedding website and your feed.

Included in Signature and Full Day

An engagement session comes with the Signature ($2,400, up to 8 hours) and Full Day ($3,200, up to 10 hours) packages. See everything that's included on the pricing page.

Favourite spots

Only real public places, all close to home:

  • Erieau. Beach, pier and lake views. Sunset here is ridiculous.
  • Rondeau Provincial Park. Sand, dune grass and quiet trails. Ontario Parks may require a photography permit, and I'll check that for you when we plan your session.
  • Downtown Chatham. Brick walls, old storefronts and city lights after dark.
  • Windsor riverfront. Walk the river with the Detroit skyline behind you.
  • Willistead Park grounds (Walkerville). Big trees, lawns and stone walls around the manor. Some Windsor parks and venues have their own photo rules, and I'll check that for you when we plan your session.

Got your own spot, like the farm you grew up on or your first-date patio? Even better. More ideas in engagement photo ideas for Chatham-Kent and Windsor, or browse venues if you want to scout your wedding spot at the same time.

What to wear

Wear what you'd wear on a good date, not a costume. A few tips:

  • Pick a colour palette, not matching outfits. Soft neutrals, earth tones and muted colours always look great.
  • Skip big logos and tiny busy patterns.
  • Bring a second outfit if you want two looks: one casual, one dressed up.
  • Comfy shoes for walking, nice shoes for the photos. Swap in the car.

Best time of day

Golden hour, the hour or so before sunset. The light is soft, warm and flattering on everyone. If you love the city at night, we can stay out after sunset for a backlit night shot, my signature look, when the weather allows.

Summer sunsets run late, so we'll plan around the forecast.
