Chatham-Kent
Chatham-Kent Wedding Photographer
Based in Chatham, Ontario. Candid, calm and maybe a little too into golden hour.
You want photos that feel like you, not like a catalogue. I shoot real laughs, real tears and your uncle's dance moves, and I'll make sure it all looks as good as it felt.

A Chatham local
I'm Steven. I live in Chatham, and I've been photographing weddings for 11+ years. Hate having your picture taken? Lots of people do. I'll tell you where to stand and what to do with your hands, then let you get back to your day.
I shoot weddings all over Chatham-Kent: Chatham, Wallaceburg, Tilbury, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Dresden, Thamesville, Mitchell's Bay and Erieau. No long drive, no travel stress, just a local who knows these roads.
When I'm not at a wedding, I'm probably at the gym. Pretty easygoing guy. Good luck stressing me out. More about me.
Chatham-Kent venues I know
Golf courses, retro halls, lakeside spots and plenty of farms and barns. Chatham-Kent does rustic and relaxed really well. Wherever you book, I'll know (or learn) where the good light is and where the rain plan lives.
See the venues page and my Chatham-Kent wedding venues photo guide. I've photographed weddings at Links of Kent, Retro Suites and a church in Wallaceburg.
Photo spots from downtown Chatham to Rondeau
Brick walls and old storefronts downtown. The Thames. Big open fields at sunset. Sand, dune grass and lake views out at Erieau and Rondeau. We've got range, and I'll help you pick spots near your venue so you're not losing an hour in the car.

Planning your day around golden hour
The best light of the day shows up about an hour before sunset. We'll plan a quick ten or fifteen minutes to sneak out for it, and when the weather and timeline allow, we'll finish with my signature backlit night portrait: just the two of you, glowing, while the party carries on inside.
My golden-hour wedding timeline shows how to fit it in.

Reviews
Steve did our engagement and wedding photos and they came out amazing. We were extremely happy with the outcome. It was great working with him, as he was professional, comfortable and fun to work with ... and also was very accommodating when we had to postpone twice. We made the right choice and would highly recommend him.
FAQs
How fast do we get our photos?
Sneak peeks and your full gallery, the week after your wedding. No waiting around for months.
Is there a travel fee in Chatham-Kent?
Nope. There's no travel fee anywhere in Chatham-Kent or Windsor-Essex. Anything farther gets a quote.
Are you insured, and how do you protect the photos?
Fully insured. I shoot on Sony cameras with two memory cards and swap in fresh cards for each part of the day, so no single card ever holds your whole wedding.
Can we do photos at the beach in Erieau or Rondeau?
Yes, they're some of my favourite public spots in Chatham-Kent. Lake light near sunset is hard to beat. Rondeau is a provincial park. Ontario Parks may require a photography permit, and I'll check that for you when we plan your session.
