Links of Kent Wedding Photo Guide
Links of Kent is one of the most popular wedding spots in Chatham. Here's where the best photos happen and how to plan your day around them.

Golden hour at Links of Kent.
Links of Kent is one of the most popular wedding spots in Chatham, and for good reason. You've got a stone gazebo, a creek with a bridge, rolling fairways and mature trees, all a few minutes from the 401 and downtown Chatham. I've photographed weddings here, so here's where the best photos happen and how to plan your day around them.
The stone gazebo and bridge
This is the star of the show. The gazebo was built by a stonemason brought over from Greece, and it's surrounded by a creek, a bridge and a big stone patio. It seats up to 230 for a ceremony, and the venue itself calls it the spot for the "sunset kiss."
For photos, the bridge and creek give us layers: water in front, stone behind, trees framing everything. It's the first place I'll take you for couple portraits.
The fairway
Want something more open and natural? The fairway is a big, green ceremony space that also seats up to 230. It's great for a clean, airy look, and wide shots with all your guests look amazing out there.
Your reception rooms
- The Event Centre is the big room, with a vaulted ceiling, chandeliers and a panoramic view of the golf course and the gazebo. It seats up to 230 for dinner or 320 for a cocktail-style reception.
- The River Deck Room has a rustic, country feel with windows all around, looking out over the river, the deck and the course. It seats up to 70 for dinner or 130 cocktail-style, and it can host a ceremony of up to 200.
Both rooms have big windows, which means beautiful natural light for your details, first dance and speeches before sunset.
Sunset timing
Here's my biggest tip for Links of Kent: plan a short break for portraits around sunset. Ten or fifteen minutes on the bridge or by the gazebo in that warm, late light is worth it. I'll help you build your timeline so it fits naturally between dinner and dancing, not in the middle of your speeches. My golden hour timeline guide walks through how.
Once it's dark, we'll head back out for my signature backlit night portrait whenever the weather and timing line up. It's usually the photo couples end up framing.

Links of Kent offers free use of its grounds, gazebo and patio for engagement photos. That's a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera at your actual venue before the big day. Engagement sessions come with the Signature and Full Day packages. See my engagement photos page for more.
